Week 10: Thursday Updates

OAK @ SD tonight....get your lineups set!

SF - RB Frank Gore favoring ankle at practice
Source: CSNBayArea.com - Matt Maiocco
San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore (ankle) was in full pads, and he participated in all the warmup drills Wednesday, Nov. 9, during the media portion of practice. He was observed hitting the blocking sled and doing change-of-direction drills, but he was also seen favoring his left ankle.

We'll watch this one closely to see what he's able to do Thursday.

DEN - RB Willis McGahee practices
Source: DenverBroncos.com
Denver Broncos RB Willis McGahee (hand) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 9.

McGahee is the engine that makes the Broncos offense go. He's running strong and is a RB2 with RB1 upside the way that Denver is running the football with Tim Tebow at Quarterback.

OAK - RB Darren McFadden officially out
Source: CSNBayArea.com - Paul Gutierrez
Oakland Raiders RB Darren McFadden (foot) has officially been ruled out for Week 10.

No surprise here. The Raiders will use Michael Bush as their starter Thursday night against the Chargers. Perhaps even rookie Taiwan Jones could get some touches as a change of pace back.

NO - Mark Ingram limited
Source: WWLTV.com
New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (neck) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 9.

The Saints have a bye in week 11, so Ingram may get shut down until after the team has a break.

PIT - WR Hines Ward expects to play
Source: SportingNews.com - Gerry Dulac
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Hines Ward (concussion) is expected to play in Week 10 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Wr Jerricho Cotchery will see an expanded role with WR Emmanuel Sanders (knee) out for several weeks.

Ward's being active for the game shouldn't stop you from playing Antonio Brown, who is red hot right now.

CLE - Joshua Cribbs expects to have expanded role
Source: SportingNews.com - Steve Doerschuk
Cleveland Browns WR Joshua Cribbs said he will have an expanded role in the offense in Week 10 against the St. Louis Rams. 'I can't give nothing away,' Cribbs said in the locker room after practice, 'but ... they put something special in for me.' Cribbs caught five passes for 50 yards and a touchdown in Week 9.

Cribbs is the best player the Browns have on offense, if not on either side of the ball. He is a good addition in deep leagues to see exactly what they do have in store for him and the Rams defense.

BUF - RB C.J. Spiller to see time at WR reduced
Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown
Buffalo Bills RB C.J. Spiller could still see time at wide receiver moving forward but most of his time at the position will be reduced with return of WR Donald Jones.

Spiller's fantasy value is very low right now. He's not set to do much in re-draft leagues, but makes for a nice buy low in dynasty leagues.

SD - WR Malcom Floyd doubtful
Source: KFFL.com
San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd (hip) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 9, and is listed as doubtful for Week 10.

Without Floyd in the lineup we should see more from rookie WR Vincent Brown.

ARI - QB Kevin Kolb misses practice
Source: AZCardinals.com
Arizona Cardinals QB Kevin Kolb (toe) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 9.

Kolb is the team's starter as long as he's healthy. His playing status for this weekend is uncertain at this moment. If he can't play then John Skelton will be the starter for the Cardinals.

IND - RB Joseph Addai misses practice
Source: KFFL.com
Indianapolis Colts RB Joseph Addai (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 9.

Addai's hamstring is an injury that just won't go away. Delone Carter and Donald Brown should once again be the RBs Indy turns to this week.

STL - RB Steven Jackson limited
Source: Twitter
St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson (foot) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 9.

Jackson should be just fine for Sunday's game against the Browns. He's a RB1 and could finish the week as the best fantasy RB because of the matchup.

STL - WR Mark Clayton activated from PUP list
Source: St. Louis Post-Dispatch - Jim Thomas
The St. Louis Rams have activated WR Mark Clayton (knee) from the Physically Unable to Perform list. He is expected to play in Week 10.

Clayton showed fantastic chemistry with QB Sam Bradford last year. The duo could start right where they left off now that Clayton is off the PUP list. The presence of WR Brandon Lloyd will create single coverage for Clayton. He's a risky start in week 10, but could emerge as a quality WR3 for your team later in the year.

NYG - WR Hakeem Nicks misses practice
Source: The Star-Ledger - Mike Garafolo
Updating a previous report, New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks (hamstring) did not participate in practice. Head coach Tom Coughlin said he expected Nicks would practice.

We're more likely to see Nicks on the field than we are RB Ahmad Bradshaw this week.

DAL - RB Felix Jones sitting out practice
Source: ESPNDallas.com - Calvin Watkins
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones (ankle) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Nov. 9.

We don't think Jones is going to play this week. Demarco Murray will continue to be the team's featured back, even when Jones returns to the field.

IND - TE Dallas Clark unlikely to practice this week
Source: The Indianapolis Star - Phillip B. Wilson
Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell said TE Dallas Clark (leg) will not practice Wednesday, Nov. 9, and probably will not practice at all this week.

If Clark isn't on the field the team will turn to Jacob Tamme as the starter. We're not expecting much production from the Colts, even if they change Quarterbacks.

TB - RB LeGarrette Blount gaining trust with OC
Source: St. Petersburg Times - Stephen Holder
Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB LeGarrette Blount said he is gaining more trust with offensive coordinator Greg Olson, and Blount is hoping to be used more on third-down passing situations. RB Kregg Lumpkin was in on most third downs in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints. 'I feel like that if I work a little harder in practice every week, then they'll become more and more confident to keep me in the game when we're in those situations when we're behind. It (stinks) that I have to come out of the game for the 2-minute offense or in our passing offense.'

We could see Blount emerge as the fantasy playoffs approach. The Bucs could use him more as a receiver out of the backfield because of the season ending injury to Earnest Graham.

BAL - WR Lee Evans optimistic about Week 10 status
Source: Twitter
Baltimore Ravens WR Lee Evans (ankle) said he will be limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 9, and is optimistic about his availability for Week 10.

We're not optimistic about Evans even if he's on the field. Torrey Smith has taken over as the Ravens primary deep threat.

DET - RB Jahvid Best sits out again
Source: The Detroit News Chris McCosky
Detroit Lions RB Jahvid Best (concussion) sat out of practice again Wednesday, Nov. 9, and he is not expected to play in Week 10 against the Chicago Bears, though he hasn't been officially ruled out.

Without Best in the lineup the Lions will once again use Maurice Morris and Keiland Williams. Perhaps even the newly signed Kevin Smith will get some looks in the backfield.

STL - QB Sam Bradford day-to-day
Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich
St. Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo said QB Sam Bradford (ankle) is considered day-to-day with his ankle injury.

Bradford should be in the starting lineup, but his playing status as of right now is uncertain.

WAS - WR Santana Moss not close to returning
Source: The Washington Post - Mike Jones
Washington Redskins WR Santana Moss (hand) is expected to miss at least three more weeks because of his fractured hand.

Without Moss it will open more opportunity for Leonard Hankerson and Jabar Gaffney in the passing game.

OAK - QB Carson Palmer credits Marcel Reece
Source: ANG Newspapers - Steve Corkran
Oakland Raiders QB Carson Palmer said FB Marcel Reece is one of the most unique fullbacks in the league, a true weapon for the offense. '(I haven't seen) a fullback that can run like him,' Palmer said. 'He is one of a kind. There's not another fullback in the league like him. He can block, he can pass-protect, he can run-protect, he can run iso's and go downhill on linebackers. He is a mismatch for safeties, and he might be a mismatch for some corners because he is so much bigger.'

Reece is a Fullback, but he's more versatile than most. He played numerous positions in college at Washington, and could line up at WR, TE, H-back, RB, or Fullback. We applaud him for working hard to make an impact in the NFL after going undrafted in 2008.
